1. Item 1:

–         Discrimination

–         Analysis: Current Vietnam’s society still highly appreciate men than women. It is believed that men play the most important role in the family as well as in society. They are the people who maintain the continuity of a family line, have higher social status  and decide all vital things. In fact, women take over their family but also social responsibilities well. For example: Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton , 67th United States Secretary of State, an important role in U.S Government. Therefore, men and women are equal in every aspect.

2. Item 2:

–         Stereotype

–         Analysis: This cartoon bias in term of job. People usually think nurses are female. And they don’t consider men as nurses. In fact, many men are trained to become nurses. Therefore, both men and women have equal opportunity to choose a job.

3. Item 3:

“Ít nhất 42 người thiệt mạng và 72 người khác bị thương trong một vụ đánh bom cảm tử xảy ra vào sáng nay (25.12) ở trước cửa văn phòng của Chương trình Thực phẩm thế giới ở thành phố Khar.”

–         Bias using emotive language

–         Analysis: “Cảm tử” is a Vietnamese term to honour heroes who sacrifice their life for noble mission of a country. But the writer in this article used this term, which made readers mislead. The action of the woman is not a justice aim because many innocent  people were killed and injured in this situation. Therefore, in my viewpoint “cảm tử” is not suitable to use in this case. It is better if the author use “liều chết” instead of “cảm tử”

-in item 1: the sample is good but the way you analyze it should be consider again. you mention ” current Vietnam’s society…” but then take an AMERICAN woman as an illustration. moreover, you must focus on showing the reason why it is discrimination, not proving whether it is wright or wrong
-in item 2: i agree that it is stereotype, but i do not agree that you say “In fact, many men are trained to become nurses”.
-in item 3: you fail to point out what kind of bias it is. it should be assumption, i think. but the biggest mistake of yours is that THE ITEM 3 IS NOT A SAMPLE OF BIAS! the writer just used the wrong word, not any kinds of bias!

In my opinion, in item 1 it should be gender discrimination in particular instead of discrimination in general. Then, you should not use the illustration referring to the USA person. Why dont you refer to some famous women in Vietnamese? However, your analysis in the others are good.

ITEM 1: I think you just need to analyze the bias, you should not give examples or conclusion like ” For example: Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton , 67th United States Secretary of State, an important role in U.S Government. Therefore, men and women are equal in every aspect.” It went much further than the requirement.
ITEM 2: Your conclusion “Therefore, both men and women have equal opportunity to choose a job” is not appropriate in this case.
ITEM 3: I think it’s an assumption, not “Bias using emotive language”

First, I agree with Long and Thanh that you should focus on explaining the kind of bias, the reasons why you think it is discrimination or something else, in stead of taking example or saying it’s right or wrong.
Second, in the 3rd item, I also think that you should not choose it for your entry because it is not really a bias.

I share the same idea with these above comments about the way you analyze the bias that you should focus on explaining the kind of bias, the reasons why you think it is discrimination or something else, in stead of taking example or saying it’s right or wrong. Besides, from my perspective, the first item of yours should be gender prejudice rather than discrimination because from the title of survey “Quan niem cua ban ve viec sinh con trai hay con gai” in your picture, you can see that it is just about people’s negative opinions and does not contain any action. Considering the definition of discrimination and prejudice, I think that it should be prejudice.

I think in the third item, it is not a kind of bias. Actually, it is just about the way of using word of the writer.

In my opinion, the 2nd item is about discimination because the man can not cross the line of gender, which means that there is an action against the men’s oppotunities to become nurses.
In the last item, I think it is quite difficult to decide whether or not the author wants to use this word. If he wants so, then it become a bias (assumption). If he does not mean so (bu just kind of misundersatnding the meaning of the word), it turns to be his mistake.
